About the Herd: The Kilbeagh Shorthorn herd was started by Joe Doherty in 2000 with the purchase of a very impressive cow Glore Cleopatra from Jimmie Lyons, Aughamore. Her first calf born in the Kilbeagh herd was Kilbeagh Pioneer, at 14 months Pioneer was taken into A.I. by the North Western Cattle Breeding Society which is now part of Progressive Genetics. There are now 18 Pedigree Shorthorn cows in the herd. The present Stock Bull in Lakefield Yale. Yale is son of Mogeely Yale. Joe’s moto is you must breed quality that will perform with fertility, milk and eye appeal top of the list.
