New President – Making History!

After the first council meeting of 2024, we are delighted to announce that our President for the year ahead is Amelda Middleton Leonard. Amelda, along with her family own the Ballinlig Shorthorn Herd in Co. Westmeath. Amelda is the first ever female President of the Society since it was set up in 2004. We wish Amelda every success in her role this year.

The 2024 Council includes:

Anthony McNamara – Co. Clare

Jude Benson – Co. Sligo

Noel Bohan – Co. Leitrim

Adrian Flatley – Co. Mayo (newly elected)

Michael Conway – Co. Clare (newly elected)

Mary Hallahan – Co. Cork (newly elected)

Phil Sheedy – Co. Tipperary (newly elected)
