20th Anniversary Dinner

Irish Shorthorn Society 20th Anniversary

On Friday 8th November, we celebrated our 20th Anniversary by gathering at The Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon. On the night we were joined by members of the Irish Shorthorn Society, friends, 2024 Council & staff, and special guest Nevan McKiernan from Irish Farmer’s Journal. Thank you to The Bush Hotel for their fantastic services.

  • Burren Rosie 4th (R) – Third highest Euro-Star replacement female currently in the Shorthorn herdbook. November 2024. Breeder: Cronin Forde
  • Highburren Rory (LRO) – Highest Euro-Star replacement male currently in the Shorthorn herdbook. November 2024. Breeder: Michelle Cassidy
  • Poulataggle Sorrel (RO) – Second highest Euro-Star replacement male currently in the Shorthorn herdbook. November 2024. Breeder: Finn Krewer
  • Knockagarry Heathking 966 (W) (P) – Third highest Euro-Star replacement male currently in the Shorthorn herdbook. November 2024. Breeder: Richard Lee.
  • Rowanberry Tina (R) – Pedigree Shorthorn cow that naturally produced the most calves. Number of calves: 16. Breeder: Shane & Francis Brigdale.
  • Moydrumcastle King – Pedigree Shorthorn AI bull that sired the most calves to date November 2024. Total progeny: 1,882. Breeder: Michael & Oliver Flanagan
  • Rowanberry Jaunty (RO) (P) – Pedigree Shorthorn stock bull that sired the most calves to date November 2024. Total progeny: 191. Breeder: Shane & Francis Brigdale
