Dear Members, we are delighted to introduce our new Breed Secretary, Shauna Mulhall.

Shauna lives on her family commercial suckler farm located near Ballymahon in Co. Longford. She is no stranger to all aspects of suckler farming and has been farming with her father from a young age. Shauna also has a BSc in Agricultural Science from Waterford Institute of Technology and gained experience at ICBF during her college placement. Over the last few years, she has worked closely with dairy and beef farmers helping them with breeding decisions, having worked with an AI technician during the peak breeding season each Spring. Currently on the verge of completing her Masters in quantitative genetics, Shauna is looking forward to helping breeders move the Shorthorn breed forward and working alongside you all in her new role.

We also wish to extend our sincere gratitude to our outgoing secretary, Joanne Bowers. Joanne joined the Society in March 2023 and did immeasurable work during this time. We would like to wish Joanne and her family the very best going forward. Thank you Joanne for all your hard work and contribution to the Irish Shorthorn Society. You will be missed.
