The Pedigree Breeders Council Awards took place on Saturday 1st March in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise. Presenting the awards was special guest Mr. Damien O’Reilly from the Irish Co-Operative Organisation Society (ICOS). Photographer on the night was Mr. Alf Harvey.

The well deserved Irish Shorthorn Society recipient was Ricketstown Flossy Sky, owned by Conor Murphy, Co. Carlow. The pedigree Beef Shorthorn heifer was bred by The Kelly Family of Ricketstown Herd, Co. Carlow.

Risketstown Flossy Sky had a tremendous show season during 2024. She gained many championship titles including Champion Beef Shorthorn at Tullamore Show and All-Ireland 2 Year Old Heifer at Mullingar Show.

The stylish heifer is sired by Hildaland Laird EX94 and out of a Podehole Elite sired dam, Ricketstown Flossy Meg.
